What’s happening now
Exciting things are always happening at PAST. Although most of them are between us and our clients, and the public won’t be able to read about them until their completion, there are a few programs and events we sponsor that are open to anyone who cares to join.
Bridge Programs
Bridge Programs metaphorically “bridge” students from traditional, lecture-based learning methods to transdisciplinary, problem-based learning methods. Generally one week long, these programs guide students through work on a real-world scientific problem, with presentations of learning given to the community at their conclusion.
Design Challenges
Design Challenges are competitions held throughout the school year that encourage STEM communities to put their methods into practice on a specific problem. Students work in teams in the weeks preceding the competition, and the energetic extravaganza of the Challenge location showcases their hard work.
