Zach Brooks

STEM Coordinator

(Design Maestro)

Zach Brooks is a STEM Coordinator with the PAST Foundation. In 2023, Zach was a Research Intern for the PAST Foundation, using mixed qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate questions around how students engage with their STEM Identities. Zach then continued his internship with the PAST foundation in the summer of 2024, and was excited to implement new and exciting methodologies and projects for the Research Team. Starting at the end of Summer, 2024, Zach joined the PAST Tribe full-time as a member of the Portable Innovation Labs team. In his current role as a STEM Coordinator, Brooks designs, fabricates, and rolls out the Labs in addition to collecting feedback about their effectiveness. His role working with the Portable Innovation Labs will allow him to continue to use his background in Anthropology and Ethnography to create powerful learning tools.

Zach’s love for talking to and understanding people and his desire to live in the details has helped him thrive in the PAST environment and connect with people in and out of the classroom. Zach is excited to continue working within PAST to create educational opportunities for all.

When Zach isn’t sitting with a spreadsheet or brainstorming ideas for new Portable Innovation Labs, he can usually be found playing guitar, cooking, or reading at home.

Zach graduated from Hamilton College with a B.A. in Anthropology in the Spring of 2024.
