COLUMBUS, Ohio – The PAST Foundation opened its new and re-designed STEM Workforce Learning Labs: DIGITAL, LAUNCH, DESIGN, and MAKER this year. In recognition, PAST received several commendations for PAST’s, its partners and supporters hard work and dedication that resulted in the completion of this endeavor. Commendations were received from the following United States, State of Ohio and Franklin County elected officials:
Governor Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted
U.S. Representative Troy Balderson
Ohio Senators President Matt Huffman, Matt Dolan and Hearcel Craig
Ohio House of Representatives Kristin Boggs, Speaker Robert Cupp, David Leland and Allison Russo
Franklin County Board of Commissioners President Erica Crawley
The commendations not only recognized the effort of this project but also thanked PAST, its partners and supporters in their goal of providing expanded educational opportunities to students from across Ohio in STEM fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
“PAST’s new and re-designed STEM Workforce Learning Labs: DIGITAL, LAUNCH, DESIGN, and MAKER align engaging student programs with current workforce needs. We recognize that students need real-world, collaborative, hands-on experiences to best prepare them for their futures and our learning labs will enable PAST to better provide career pathways for students to explore,” said Annalies Corbin, President & CEO of PAST Foundation.
A short program included an overview of PAST and the STEM Workforce Learning Labs Expansion Project and speakers including elected officials, local business leaders, and students. A tour of the facility followed the program.
