The Big Red Tank Has Landed!

How do you get a 4000 gallon water tank in PAST’s building?  Carefully, very carefully!

As we planned our renovation, we looked at ensuring we were including opportunities to positively impact our environment. That included the installation of the huge water tank which will increase water pressure for the building and collect rainwater to be used in our Learning Lab facility. We take ecological stewardship seriously, and this is one important way we demonstrate that.

So how did this tank land? Well, it was hoisted by crane and lowered through one of the rooftop skylights – another design choice that brings natural light into our labs.

Look carefully and you’ll see a drone flying over the building. That’s being operated by students from Metro Early College High School. The drone has a Go-Pro attached to document the whole process.  Pretty cool!
